Аннотация

The article discusses the essence, preconditions of formation and development of project management in the modern economy. Special emphasis has been given to its mechanism which is aimed at receiving the planned results in resource-limited settings. Through project management can be implemented the strategic social and economic goals in an ever ongoing changes. Particular importance project management plays in a period of instability and crisis situations.
Especial focus has been given to the implementation of projects and program. The main types of projects and programs have been analyzed. Their identification is necessary in order to optimize the project activity, determine potential risks and minimize their effects. Government programs are most effectively implemented by the program and project approach. It was concluded that necessary its further improvement, significant changes within the system of public and municipal administration.
