Abstract
The article deals with the problem of knowledge-intensive industries as a vital factor in enhancing their competitiveness and efficiency of the intellectual activity of scientific organizations in Russia. The aim of the work is to analyze the forms and methods of improving the effectiveness of information systems, storing the scientific and technical information. The problems, that will be solved in the research, are: analysis and evaluation of the cost-effectiveness of investing in mathematical and information support of research; evaluating the risk in information systems development and management; the development of a system concept for improving the effectiveness of information support of the scientific activity.
