The presence of a competitive advantage allows the organization to occupy its niche in the market and carry out activities with the maximum possible economic benefit. The enterprises of the penal-executive system, like any other modern domestic companies, operate in a market economy, so many different factors are used to assess their performance and competitiveness, which are included in the system of indicators of competitiveness of these enterprises. The article is devoted to the analysis of the peculiarities of taking into account factors and methods of assessing the competitiveness of the organizations of the Federal Service for the Execution of Punishments of the Russian Federation.
